The Western Way Podcast
As many of you might know or not I started a podcast called The Western Way Podcast. I wanted a place to share about people in the western lifestyle that have amazing stories to tell. I love to talk a lot and I love the western way of life so I thought it would be the perfect idea.
When I started telling people about the idea, most people would say, “What is a podcast?” I’m from a very small town and a lot of people just aren’t on top of technology. I on the other hand always want the latest phone and live for podcasts because it is a place that I have learned so much about business and life. Podcasts are 100% free and if you aren’t listening to them you should!
There are podcasts about anything in life. From farming, to photography, to woodworking. Whatever you can think of there is a podcast for you!
Images for the Podcast
Getting started in the podcast world there is a lot to learn. I had to learn how to submit to iTunes, how to host the podcast, how to interview (huge learning curve), figure out which microphone would work best, and so much more. I just knew that I wanted to do this so I just dug in. Earlier this year I wanted a few images to share on social media but I didn’t want to use all of my clients images so I asked Jessie if she would be up for a fun photoshoot. I wanted to catch some lifestyle shots of her saddling, riding, and just working around their farm. Of course she always delivers because her and her family are amazing!
The Process
I am still in the process of getting everything lined up, the website launched and social media figured out. Launching a podcast with a 5 month old child and in the middle of busy season for photography was probably not the smartest move but I’m so glad to have gotten the ball rolling. I have several interviews recorded, I just need to get them edited and posted. This winter I’m going to dive in deep to get it going and recordings scheduled out so I won’t have to worry about them after that.
So stay tuned for some new and exciting guests features! If you haven’t checked it out yet we are on iTunes and Spotify.
