A Girl and Her Horse

Reid is already 14 years old.  I remember when she was born and when her mom first brought her home.  There is nothing to make you feel older than watching your cousins grow up.

We scheduled a fun shoot with Reid’s new horse, Jed.  This was the first time I have really gotten to photograph Reid and I was so excited.  She grew up loving horses and after their old horse Mojo passed away a few years ago she didn’t get to ride that much.  Reid would come and ride with me from time to time but she wasn’t able to ride much at home.

For Christmas this year I had a gelding, Jed who is 15 and hanging around.  I was pregnant and didn’t have a ton of extra time to ride both horses and I thought he would be perfect for her.  So for Christmas she got a surprise and Jed was standing in their barn.  It made my heart so happy to see her excited and that they were able to have a horse again that she can ride when ever she wants.

I went and picked up Jed and we brought him over to the house so she could ride and have a photoshoot with him.  It was an absolute blast and I can’t wait till after the baby gets here and we can go riding more often this summer!
