Parachute Dress
The original idea for this parachute dress first came to light when I saw an image of one on instagram and I was like OMG I need to do this. It sparked an interest in me and I knew I had to do it. I immediately went to Google and started looking for places to rent a parachute dress. To be honest there really aren’t that many. Basically two came up. Of all the people I wanted to work with Abby was one of the top ones because we have worked together so much in the past and she is SO easy to work with and absolutely gorgeous. We had planned for this shoot to be in early 2019 but unfortunately Abby was in a bad accident and we were not able to do it so we pushed it to the fall of 2019.
A friend of mine has a beautiful field where I knew the light would be perfect so we hauled, Gus (the horse), the dress, and all the amazing people working behind the scenes to the location and got started. Gus, being the angel that he is, was perfect for this. He didn’t even bat an eyelash at this dress that has a 20ft diameter. So Abby climbed on (watch the link above) after not being able to walk or ride for three months after the accident. I was so happy to see her back in the saddle and enjoying what she loves. Abby is such an amazing person and we wanted to plan this to be her coming back photoshoot. It felt like that and so much more.
One thing I learned from Abby after her accident was don’t give up when times are hard. She fought through so much to be where she is today and she is such an inspiration to me and to a lot of people.
