Molasses Making
Molasses making is becoming a lost art. It takes a lot of work from growing the cane, stripping it, cooking the molasses down to canning it. Our good friend Aaron has grown up around molasses making his entire life. As a little boy he watched his neighbors do it and every year he would go over and help he loved the process. Once he bought his own house it was his dream to have a place where he could have a molasses cooking.
2019 was his first year of having a Molasses cooking. We headed over with Lyza to hang out for the day. She loved every bit of it. There was food, desserts and lots of laughs. It was so good catching up with everyone and meeting so many new people.
If you get the chance to go to a Molasses cooking you should go! It is so fun watching an old lifestyle kept alive by a new generation!
