Stepping out of your box is hard. It is scary and I just say that I don’t really want to do it. One of my favorite sayings is if you are not uncomfortable you are not growing. It makes a lot of sense. If you are in your comfort zone you are staying in one place.
One of my favorite photographers, Chris Dickerson, is hosting a monthly contest where he assigns a certain topic, you have to schedule a shoot in the allotted time, and then choose an image that best represents that months assignment. Choosing one image for a contest on a topic that you aren’t really sure about is nerve racking. It was fun to step out of my comfort zone and Brandi was so sweet to volunteer to be my model.
We added a few fun shots after I got the shot that I needed and just had fun!
